Hi.

I'd like to chose a handful of classical music web radios to listen to while I'm at the PC (which is where I mostly am). Can those of you with knowledge of these stations advise me?
Also, what is the best way to organize a bunch of stations? An audio player?

Thanks in advance.

You could try Kodi. It comes with a radio plugin with thousands of choices, and you can add individual ones to "My stations."

I use radiotray and some of its default stations, but I have added many other stations to it which is very easy to do manually, according to your needs.

Halooo Crimple ! yours is a very old dilemma,,, But, try this...
.............. http://streema.com/radios

This will ´ḧold" the station , but you should have reasonable Internet bandwidth, and watch out. If your provider charges by amount used.
BTW, worlds very popular Jazz station is Radio Swiss Jazz.
So, Jazz, Rock, Indian snake music and hundreds of classical stations.

why not pandora? if you are fine with pandora, then try "pithos" (no ads; no browser; easy to use)

Pandora is not available in my country, besides it's not exactly what I'm (was) looking for; good suggestion though, thanks.

Clementine is a nice program for online music. You can also copy the urls from http://www.shoutcast.com/ , or play from their site as well.

BBC Radio 3 is worthwhile for classical music. I listen through Rhythmbox.

This site provides stream info for many UK radio stations:

Well, it should be as simple as:
apt install streamtuner
