Digital Camera compatibility with Ubuntu? URGENT

Hi,

my aunt wanted to buy a digital camera. I'm pretty new, and i only have ubuntu. My aunt bought a Canon Powershot A510, and i'm wondering if it will work with Ubuntu?

I haven't opened the camera yet in case if it doesn't work.

So how would i install it with my computer?

I plug it into the USB then what?

plug it in, then activate the picture view mode and gthumbs should pop up. save the images where you want them to be. then close gthumbs and right click on the removable device and unmount it. then shut down the camera.

Cool i got it to work
