Hi, I,m new in ubuntu.
When I was trying to install any apps from ubuntu software center, it shows 'Use this source' button
rather than 'Install' button.
After clicking on 'Use this source' in progress tab shows the a progress bar and
after sometime a popup says 'Failed to download repository information'...

Plz help.

Your version of Ubuntu has passed end of life, which means the software repositories have been moved.

You could change the source.list file to point to the old.releases but your best bet would be to get to a supported release.

15.10 is the current version which goes end of life in July but can be upgraded to 16.04 when it comes out in April and has a support life of 5 years (LTS release - Long Term Support).

As howefield has said your version is no longer supported. I have been using 16.04 Beta for about a month with no show stopping problems.
so would recommend you go right to that version it will have long term support.
you can get it here (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2016/02/ubuntu-16-04-beta-1-download-flavors)
I like the mate version. Unity won't be available until the RC is released.

Or you can wait a few weeks and get the 16.04 stable version.
