I'm upcycling a HP Compaq D530. I'm able to boot up in Puppy Linux fine. I hooked up a new hard drive. I then installed Ubuntu Gnome 14 (and partitioned disk) off a USB Disk-on-Key (while on Wifi for other updates etc). It seemed that everything was installed and it booted up find and displayed the Gnome desktop. But when I clicked on "actions" to open Firefox no menus opened up and then I got the error message "Stopping System V RunLevel Compatibility". What does that mean, and how do I resolve this problem?
