*note I posted this some time ago and I wasn't as used to Linux as I am now.

My laptop is an HP Envy m4 1015-dx (http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-m4-Notebook-PC-series/5296069/model/5312250/drivers)
No hardware problems: http://i.imgur.com/D6L3L55.jpg

Issue:
It was running Windows 8.1 and then I decided I wanted Ubuntu.
I put a bootable disk in (right Architecture and a Stable version 14.04.4 LTS). I tried installing Ubuntu and then my laptop fan and laptop was playing a graphics intensive game, then my computer immediately turns off. Same thing with Try Ubuntu Without Installing. I tried this whole thing on Legacy Boot. I've tried acpi=off, radeon.modeset=0, nomodeset, booting from EFI file.
I'm thinking it's a graphical problem.

Other Info:
- I've updated my BIOS version from F.14 to F.18
- A couple years ago, I ran Ubuntu fine on the same computer so I am really confused.
- Using Unetbootin, 8GB USB
- ISO image: ubuntu-14.04.4-desktop-amd64

If you need more info, I would be happy to provide.

EDIT: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2316462 All of these options didn't work for me either.
