View Full Version : UEFI problems on Acer Aspire Nitro Black VN7-592G

March 6th, 2016, 04:07 PM
I've ordered VN7-592G already. And I'm not able to install ubuntu on it in UEFI mode. Even if installation passed the whole installation process - Windows 10 is the only available system to boot.

Does anyone handle this?

Ever Acer we have seen so far has same requirement for setting supervisory password and "trust" on Ubuntu/grub's UEFI boot files.
That is actually better than many like HP, Sony and others that only offically boot some operating system called "Windows".

Very latest UEFI/BIOS works, downgrade not required:
Acer E5-573G, downgrade UEFI, supervisor password & trust on Ubuntu efi boot files.
Acer Aspire E15 will not dual boot
Acer Aspire E 15 Downgrade to older UEFI, password & trust (ACPI issues?)
Acer Aspire ES1-512-C39M Details on supervisor password and settings to enable trust on ubuntu entries Also R14 model same fix
One of several with more details:

Welcome. Better here as you changed support requests part way through the other thread. :)
