ubuntu MATE menu issue

Hi. I installed Ubuntu MATE 14.04.2 64-bit recently and I am having issue with its default menu. I love the current gnome2-like set up and the theme but the problem is that the menu icons load up very slow during the first start. especially the icons in the office submenu takes several seconds to load.

Can anyone please suggest me how-to rectify this issue? Changing to the Faenza icon theme has resolved this issue but I don't like Faenza. I want the default out-of-the-box look. THANKS :)

Sounds like a bad icon theme. In rare instances, gnome/mate code has been known to act strange when you get a bad set of theme files. I would try downloading an updated version of the theme you want to use, or try reinstalling mate-icon-theme in Software Centre.

I've never noticed the delay so I've not tried any of the mentioned workaround though.
