Welcome to the Ubuntu Forums :-)

I see no mockup, but I can guess that you have problems with the graphics card. I suggest that you boot with the boot option nomodeset and when booted like that install an nvidia proprietary driver. See the following links

Try Ubuntu (Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, ...) before installing it (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2230389)
Post #6: Is the computer running in UEFI mode or in classical BIOS mode? (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2230389&p=13370798#post13370798)
Post #7: Boot options (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2230389&p=13370808#post13370808)

Now that Ubuntu 14.04.4 is released, I suggest that you download it and try it, because of new drivers available for your hardware.

@Boolessdynamic, the reason your images are not showing is that you used the wrong URLs between BBCode [IMG] tags. The URLs you used are for the complete imgur.com pages where your images are. You need different ones for the actual images. Did you not check to ensure your post was displaying correctly after posting it?

Use the edit button to amend the URLs in your post, or post the correct URLs in a new post. Your logged in imgur page should tell you how to insert images into a forum post correctly

If you right click and press open image on next tab it will show you the image but I have no nomodeset option because instead of a purple installation splash screen I get a screen that is black with try ubuntu install ubuntu check disk for errors and it says grub at the top

See the links in post #2. There are (links to) instructions how to enter the boot option in grub.
