Yesterday I was at a friend's house and thought to show him FF for Android on my unrooted Moto G.
My idea was to show the difference on sites with an AdBlocker on FF but I never got that far.
I went to Google Play and installed the top search result. I did notice that FF wanted a lot of permissions (basically everything) but carried on and installed it.
I next used FF to browse a mainstream newspaper and it behaved as you would expect.
AFAIR I quit FF then I noticed a red notification (I did not have my glasses on) saying something like "FF wants a stupid amount of permissions". I pressed the notification expecting to be able to revoke some of them.
At this point a screen appeared with all sorts of info on it. On the left was a circular download meter and elsewhere lots of "getting data" messages.
I quickly quit whatever that was and uninstalled FF.
Any ideas what was going on there?

I know this is not a support request!
I also do some testing on the Cyanogenmod Forums!
But at time's both firefox and chrome will show that sort of behavior..
Again I know this is not for suport but just sharing some findings.

For what it's worth i like Opera and Puffin on the Android platform

Thanks for the info. Fortunately I don't do facebook, twitter or online banking so apart from my contacts there is little information on my phone.
I think I'm getting a new ailment called Googlephobia :) I'd buy an Ubuntu phone but don't have spare cash ATM and there are two Android apps that I'd like to keep.
