View Full Version : [kubuntu] akonadi fail: "process not registered at D-Bus"

Hi, half-arsed amateur Kubuntu 15.10 user here.

For a while now I haven't been able to use akonadi, which sucks, because I used to use it a lot.

When I attempt to start the server through the configuration GUI I get the error below.

I tried commenting (and uncommenting) "sql_mode=strict_trans_tables" in mysql.conf, as described here https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php?46905-SOLV-Akonadi-control-process-not-registered-at-D-Bus-Upgrade-Kde-4-3-5-to-4-4

But no joy.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Akonadi is not running as root
Details: Akonadi is not running as a root/administrator user, which is the recommended setup for a secure system.

Test 3: SUCCESS

MySQL server found.
Details: You have currently configured Akonadi to use the MySQL server '/usr/sbin/mysqld-akonadi'.
Make sure you have the MySQL server installed, set the correct path and ensure you have the necessary read and execution rights on the server executable. The server executable is typically called 'mysqld'; its location varies depending on the distribution.

Test 4: SUCCESS

InnoDB: crash recovery and ignore that table.
InnoDB: 3) If the file system or the disk is broken, and you cannot remove
InnoDB: the .ibd file, you can set innodb_force_recovery > 0 in my.cnf
InnoDB: and force InnoDB to continue crash recovery here.
