I would pay more for this kind of card than a non-FLOSS-friendly card.

Like double.

But then again, I do not have a need for a graphics card that can do more than display a text editor. But my kids will grow up one day...

yeah i heard about this guy and his project. currently my graphics card supports a higher ram size and has a better spec than the one he is designing. however, if his hardware gets good reviews and seems to rock, on my next computer puchase i would buy a card from him. i think the ability to have 3D accelerated video built into the kernel would rock. plus the having it be all FLOSS is a awesome idea. i would support that.

however, i just puchased a nvidia card, doubtful i will get another card anytime soon.

OSS is a small market for video cards. I wish that open source cards were the norm, but

well, I hope it works out. ATI has made me rue the day I spent money on their cards.

I'm with azz, I would but this card in a heartbeat. Would spend more on it too. Considering this guy has skills.

Also, wasn't there a company doing the samething?
