Let's check how many old kernels you have installed. Open a terminal and post the output of this command into your next post.

The Grub boot menu has an option called Advanced options for Ubuntu. It is a sub-menu and we can select to load Linux with recovery mode. The recovery mode menu will have an option to Clean - Try to make free space. It is a script that will run the apt-get clean & autoremove commands for us. Resume restarts the OS loading process.

I've just picked it up over the 5 years I've been using Linux full time and in my dabbling before that. There certainly wasn't one source.

Helping on these forums really started me off.

Learning how to get the best from the man pages really helps.

There are some podcasts i watch and some blogs i follow and some IRC channels i lurk in.

The thing is i like technology and I'm prepared to put the time in to learn new things. I'm prepared to read and play.

Another thing i did was to set goals (eg: i want to learn how to build a PXE server) then i researched how to do it, how to secure it and how to break it.

Just make sure what you read is up to date and relevant.

From the forums, there is also this monster thread courtesy of Cortman.

You should know that i consider myself a beginner in Linux though. The more i learn the more, i realise there are gaps in my knowledge and the more i realise the gaps are greater and more numerous than i realised :)
