All,
A few years ago, I wrote a sci-fi novel trilogy, called The Battle for the Solar System (http://www.battleforthesolarsystem.com). Recently, I started working on a game, set in the trilogy's universe.
The Pandoran War is a 2D mission-based space shooter, where you take on the role of multiple pilots and starfighters, to battle against a hostile force threatening to eradicate the human race. The game is non-linear, with the player granted the chance to tackle missions as they see fit (as long as prerequisites are met).

The game is hosted on GitHub at : https://github.com/stephenjsweeney/tbftss. There are a few known issues in the v0.4 release, which are fixed in the develop branch on github, and will be added to the v0.5 release, around March / April time. Feel free to play the develop branch, instead of master, if you prefer. The game depends on SDL2, and is mainly mouse driven.

There are source and binary downloads available here:

I'm blogging about stuff I'm working on for the game every now and again at my personal website: www.stephenjsweeney.com, if you fancy checking that out, too.
Oh, I highly recommend you read the online manual, here: http://www.battleforthesolarsystem.com/games/pw/manual/
Happy New Year!
