Ubuntu 15.10, Gnome-shell 3.16.4

Settings of some windows are not remembered between boots.
Specifically, Thunderbird and Firefox always starts up full screen even if I down-size it prior to logging off/powering down.
And very odd; if I run 'backup' (aka deja dup) graphically, and use the file manager through deja-dup (eg, add a directory to backup), the settings that I choose in deja-dup for the file manager (eg show hidden files), then gets 'stuck' in nautilus. That is, after using the file manager via deja-dup, and then use nautilus, nautilus will not remember settings I change in nautilus.

Thoughts?
