Hello,

Does the Lenovo has a hdd utility you can use to run a hdd check?
I'd run a long or exhaustive test on it and see if it fails.
I'm not aware of any type of Linux install that would cause this type of issue.
How do you know the hdd is heating up?
Are you getting some type of system error, boot error, BIOS error about temperature issue?

Thank You,
