I just installed Ubuntu Gnome 15.10 on my laptop. It is a Clevo B5100M with a 128 gig SSD, 8 gigs of ram and a I5 2.4ghz processor.
I noticed when using mouse or touchpad, i sometimes get mouse trails or the pointer section of mouse stays at one place while i move to another. I have a residual mouse point at some point and the normal mouse pointer following my touch or mouse itself. I saw some other posts but they don't apply. This happens to the mouse pointer at the top bar, in firefox and file manager as well as other areas.

Any ideas on how to get this to stop?

Thank you,

Have you installed Nvidia proprietary drivers? Perhaps you should...

Have you installed Nvidia proprietary drivers? Perhaps you should...

I wasn't planning on adding that driver because when I did that with Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint battery life decreased.
I will try and post results later.
Since this has both the Intel and Nvidia option, is Bumblebee still an option? I haven't used that in a very long time.

Thank you for your reply.

The driver seems to be the issue. The Nvidia driver seems to be the fix, although now my laptop fan runs most of the time. Is there a quick way to switch between the Intel and Nvidia cards?
