Hello,
I'm trying to install Ubuntu on a Compaq machine running Windows Vista. The vista failed so i'm trying to replace it with Ubuntu, But it is stuck on the loading screen.
This has never happened before and I do not know how to fix it.
It comes up with the regular keyboard image at the bottom of the screen and then it pops up with something like 'ACPI PPC Probe failed' before the Ubuntu loading screen cycles over and over again. The disc drive only flashing every now and again.
Is there anything I can do? I don't have any DVDs left to burn and the machine has no USB booting support.
Machine info:
RAM: 3.5 GB
Processor: 32 bit AMD processor. (GHz unknown)
Current OS: Windows Vista (Blue screen of Death)
Extras: DVD + CD RW drive
SD card reader
GPU: Unknown
Thanks in advance for any help :)
