Is your system an Apple?
We do not support Mac operating system on PC as that is against forum code of conduct which you agreed to.
If a Mac I will move to the Apple sub-forum where Mac users can help.

Boot-Repair can convert a BIOS install of Ubuntu on a gpt partitioned drive that also has an ESP to UEFI boot.

Welcome.

oldfred can help with your issue, but just a note: If you are going for a clean install I wouldn't bother with 15.04. It reaches end-of-life in January 2016, will then be unsupported and you will need to upgrade. Go with the very stable 14.04 LTS (til April 2019) or 15.10 (around July next year), both of which are upgradeable to 16.04 LTS, the next long-term support release, from the second half of next year.

Good luck.

Thanks much for your response, Oldfred. Didn't know that I was violating Ubuntu's forum code of conduct. So sorry. Will withdraw my post immediately. Wasn't my intent to offend anyone or post in the wrong place. Am a newb at this whole thing. Sorry again.
