View Full Version : [ubuntu] Radiance theme 10.04 color vs. Radiance them color 14.04

December 3rd, 2015, 10:40 PM

I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS to 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS.

The change we noticed was the color of the Radiance them.

Here is an example:

As you can see it has the tan border around it.

But in 14.04, the Radiance Theme is gray instead of tan:

How can I change the newer Radiance theme to match the older Radiance theme color?

I'm currently running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with ubuntu-mate desktop installed.

It tried copying one of the existing Radiance-orange themes I installed from the Ravefinity project, and I tried editing the settings.ini file in the gtk-3.0 directory, and the gtkrc file in the gtk-2.0 directory. But I still can't get the borders to change color.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you.

Right Click in an open area on the Desktop and select Change background, That will pull up a customization window and the change the window borders to your liking.
If I understand you correctly.

runrickus, thank you for your response. It is much appreciated.

Available theme options are not the problem. So yes, I could select a different theme color, Ambiance, Fog, etc. by right clicking, change desktop background, click the theme tab, and they select the desired theme.

The problem is the existing Radiance Theme color for 14.04. It is currently a gray. The previous version in 10.04 was tan.

Is there a way to customize it to the desired tan color.

Something along the lines here:

But I have yet to find the file/option to edit the window border color.

So it would seem that we are stuck with the newer colors:-(
Tried editing a few of the css sheets but no success yet.

Just to remind you there is always Emerald Theme Manager which gives a lot more control of colors, and looks of the Window borders.
To install Emerald

Thanks, I thought that might be the case.

Thank you for your time and effort. I really appreciate it.

I did come across this particular theme:

This is the only one that comes closest to the original I've found.

Thanks again for your help and the suggested Emerald themes.
