View Full Version : [ubuntu_mate] Gnome Commander doesn't work with SMB samba shares

I've just install Umate 15.1 on a PC joined to a WinXP network.
I daily need to manage (open, move, delete) a lot of files stored on a NAS linked to the WinXP network.
Thus i installed GNOME Commander (latest stable version) and i tried to reach the files stored onto NAS via the GC network button.
Despite to my effort, i obtained just a "Failed to browse the network. Is the SMB module installed?" notification.
I searched in the UForums for a solution and i saw this previous thread (Make Gnome Commander work with SMB samba shares): unfortunately the hint described doesn't fix the problem (i installed the libgnomevfs2-extra (http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/libgnomevfs2-extra) but the notification remains).
On the opposite, the Umate built-in file manager (single window) works perfectly and manages every file stored onto NAS.
Could anyone help me to solve the matter (or give me an hint to workaround the problem) ?
Many thanks in advance for your attention.
