Hi there,

when i click on a link or open a new program, if there is an already running instace of that program in a different desktop, that instance will be moved to my current desktop and the new link opened inside it.

By example:
If i have firefox opened on desktop 1 and i click on a link in thunderbird on desktop 4, firefox will be moved to desktop 4 and the new link opened inside of it.
That's quite annoying.
I would like the new link to be opened inside the existing window only if it is one the same desktop i am in.

Is it possible?

Thank you

Probably, if you opened another instance of Firefox at the desktop you want to open the link on, then clicked the link. You could try it.

No, a random instance of Firefox (the first I've opened?) is stolen anyway from the related desktop and moved to the desktop I've clicked the link on.

For those reading in future, there is an option under XFCE settings -> Window Manager Tweaks -> Focus.

The options is called: "When a window requests focus".
