Turkey day challenge! I had the grand idea of upgrading my desktop while I did chores around the house. Oops.
I was on Xubuntu 15.04. I did some pending updates, rebooted, all was well. It then told me that an update to 15.10 was available, so I proceeded. It downloaded some things, gave me another prompt to continue, it started downloading more and I walked away. I came back to a black screen with a flashing cursor. My keyboard is unresponsive, but the HDD light shows activity. The network was also showing activity but not anymore. I can't seem to SSH in to check on things or do a proper shutdown, and I don't know if the state it's in whether it's even safe to shut down right now. :(
Other info: I'm running LUKS full-disk encryption, and using the nVidia driver.
What's the best way for me to proceed from here?
