Hi,
As the title says, I was attempting to create a bootable USB. I restarted OSX with the option key held down, selected EFI and went through an Ubuntu installation process. When the prompt asked whether I wanted to install on the existing partition I expected it to be the USB partition and not the Mac's. Any suggestions how I recover from this one?
Thanks for reading
Steve

Are you saying that you have overwritten/destroyed your OSX?

What software did you use to try to create a bootable Ubuntu flash drive? Generally the process involves downloading the iso file, using something like unetbootin or other similar software to create a bootable flash drive in which you can select the drive on which to put it. You would then reboot selecting the flash drive to boot and begin the install process. Not knowing how you tried to create the bootable flash will make it difficult to try to answer your question.
