I installed Lubuntu 15.10 (64) on HP Pavilion zv6000 from USB. Re-partitioned 50 GiB disk: /, /boot, /home, swap.
The Pavilion was previously running Lubuntu 14.?? (32) with no problems.
Near the end of installation, a message said some applications were not recovered and I must install manually.
(It would be nice if a list of unrecovered applics were made available)
I selected the Restart option.
The machine hung at the Lubuntu splash screen with timer dots cycling for over 10 minutes.
(Again, it would be nice to know whether the machine is starting or shutting down.)
The display from pressing F6 shows the following Failed items:
F. unmounting /run/user/999/gvfs.
F. unmounting cdrom.mount.
F. unmounting /target/run.
F. unmounting /run/user/999.
F. unmounting /target.
I can post further lines from F6 display if needed.
Any ideas what's happening? Should I just power down and boot new
OS (if it boots) and see where I am?
