I have installed ubuntu 14.04 on my Toshiba laptop, installed many applications and running smmothly with KDE/Unity/Razor Qt/Mate desktops. Recently I applied a software update, which downloaded about 900 MB of packages, and on rebooting I found that the installation was upgraded to 14.04.03 Trusty (Jessie/Sid). I have the installed softwares intact and working fine. But I could not use external (USB) mouse. Also network is not working. Please guide me Thanking in anticipation, arulamudhu

14.04 and 14.04.03 are the same thing.

But, 900MB of anything it big, and in no way normal.
Had you ever ran an update before?
Because that seems like the total amount since 14.04 came out.
