What do my parents watch?

My mom watches mostly the local news and courtroom shows on local TV channels and The Real Housewives of (Insert Location Here) on Bravo and In The Kitchen with David on QVC.

My dad watches shows like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and many other things.

So, What do your parents watch?

None current. They are dead.

Dad liked
* the A-Team
* 6-Million Dollar Man
* Indy 500 race
* Superbowl (but pretty much no other sports except college boxing)
Dad hated M.A.S.H. Don't really remember him watching much TV.

Mom liked Wheel of Fortune. Couldn't stay away much after 7p. Morning person.

They mostly read books and periodicals.

My mom mostly watched Christian stations.

My dad and step-mom watch The Walking Dead. They used to watch Game of Thrones, but I don't know if they still do that. Outside of those two (or three, considering Fear of the Walking Dead), I don't know. I know they're watching the World Series together, but I think that mostly has to do with my dad being from Kansas City and a huge Royals fan. I guess they also like to watch the Miami Heat play, considering that's my step-mom's favorite sports team.

I would assume it is "The Afterlife".

They have been dead for a long time. They would watch things like Lawrence Welk when they were still living.

I am the parent, and I watch anime (http://myanimelist.net/animelist/SeijiSensei?&order=4), live sports (Pats/Dolphins tonight; hope it is as good as last Sunday's game against the Jets), and the occasional movie from Netflix or On-Demand. Sometimes I play video games; I'm working through the Deep Roads add-on to Dragon Age Inquisition at the moment.

My parents' favorite show back in the day might have been All in the Family. My father found Archie amusing though they shared some similarities. My mother liked Looney Tunes as well. Later in life we watched a hour-long reprise of Roadrunner cartoons, and she laughed her head off throughout.

Dad watches The Walking Dead, some sports, Fox News, and a little SciFi. Mom likes the Food Network, Ink Masters, and Undercover Boss.

Your mom had similar tastes to my own.

My parents both passed away many years ago too, but I have fond memories of watching the shows Mission:IMPOSSIBLE, Wild Wild West, Secret Agent Man (the British Danger Man show), and others, with my Dad. My mom was not a big tv watcher.

I remember watching "The Ed Sullivan Show" on TV with my parents and sister in the early 1960's. Ed Sullivan had this unknown British group called the Beatles on the show. My sister thought they were great, I thought they were crap. :lol:

+1
The only time I thought it was worth watching is when they would air new Music Stars.
IE: Elvis, The Doors, The Supremes, The Dave Clark Five, The Beach Boys, The Jackson 5, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones.
I am sure there were more but I forget.:D

I am the parent, and I watch anime (http://myanimelist.net/animelist/SeijiSensei?&order=4), ...

I'm the grandparent and have recently started watching anime and the first thing I noticed was that it seems ok for the hero(ine) to die. Rarely see that in Hollywood productions. Thanks for the list, I have a long way to go.

Other than that, Game of Thrones offers some decent scripts. Seems advertisers expect oldies like me to watch nothing other than news, current affairs and conservative tripe called 'reality'. They don't know me (or my generation) very well.

My mom loved shows like those, too. We watched The Prisoner together the summer it aired, and while we both scratched our heads over a number of episodes, we still found it entertaining. She and I both coveted McGoohan's car.

I'm old enough to be a grandparent (66 next month), but didn't have a child until I was 42. She's in grad school now, so I'm not expecting any grandchildren for quite some time to come. She introduced me to anime when she borrowed a copy of Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke from a friend at around age 14. I've stuck with it more than she, though we did rewatch Cross Game, a show about baseball and many other things, together last spring as a kickoff to the season.

A few of my top-rated shows, like Cross Game, have never been released in the US so I've had to resort to more questionable methods to watch them. For folks in our age group, I strongly recommend Bartender. With a substantial number of the patrons well over forty, it's a nice contrast with the usual cast of adolescents. Luckily the excellent fansub is on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPlA2yUN_Bk&list=PLBC27A43F92EC79F9). I did my part to contribute by buying the soundtrack album. Now I subscribe to the Crunchyroll (http://www.crunchyroll.com/) and Funimation (http://www.funimation.com/) streaming services.

Living in Oz you do have the opportunity to watch shows that have never made it to the States, in particular the remarkable Dennou Coil (http://sirenvisual.com.au/index.php/shop/anime/dennou-coil-complete-series-amaray-edition.html) and the excellent Chihayafuru (http://sirenvisual.com.au/index.php/chihayafuru-complete-season-1.html). At least the latter is still streamed on Crunchyroll. Monster (http://sirenvisual.com.au/index.php/monster-complete-series-box-set-volumes-1-to-5.html) made a brief appearance in the US, but my DVD of the first fifteen episodes sits orphaned on my shelf because the US distributor decided not to release the other 59 episodes.

My parents watch literally everything they find, they are the only ones left with a TV here, the others got rid of theirs. Mostly news, weather, etc. But Big Bang Theory or other comedies, and also random movies are watched pretty often here.

My Mother will watch anything that moves and makes a noise. I doubt my Dad watches anything, he was a TV engineer in the early 1960s and he hates the concept of broadcast TV.

My dad died in 1982 (aged 51) and my mum is a author/writer

I can remember in the 70's (when everything was rosy) they used to watch programmes like Morecambe & Wise (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE_1RnrYUFg) & The two Ronnies (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9RbYkwj8Wc)

The News & Dad watched the Footy
