I didn't even know we now offered such upgrades but it's so:

Sadly Trusty -> Vivid upgrades are presently known to fail due to this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lvm2/+bug/1497688
If you jump to comment #2 you'll see that the failure is not limited to only a small amount of packages so I assume there is no valid work-around.
