Hi,
I love the work space feature, but i was thinking of ways to use it even more and came up with a setup in my head.
Like i want the up/right one to hold my google keep notes and mail application, bottom right for maple and bottom left for chrome.
Is it possible to anchor the windows somehow? What i specifically want is the apps to running and be in their positions at login

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Devilspie will do that for you. With devilspie, you can force positions and workspaces on their startups.

Assuming you are using default Unity desktop, the window manager (Compiz) already has support for that built-in. Just use Compizconfig Settings Manager, and the "Place Windows" and "Window Rules" -plugins allow you to define all kinds of default positions, sizes, and other settings for various applications and window types.
