My boot kernel line sports only 'ro' as an option. Others like 'nomodeset', 'VGA=', 'video=' only gave me trouble. What I want to achieve is a high resolution (hardware dependent) on the desktop and VGA resolution (25 lines, 80 columns, courier 16) in the text console.
Can it be done and how?
