Please use Code tags if long text output. Better yet just post link that Boot-Repair gives.

When you say it will not boot, what happens?
If you hold shift key from BIOS, do you get grub menu. System with one install will not normally show grub menu.

Some systems have a way to turn on/off drive. Is drive seen correctly in BIOS?

Thank You for the reply...
It boots to the grub menu and then hangs on a purple screen for quite a few minutes. After that it runs a bunch of text and gets to something with....
ACPI PCC Probe Failed
Starting Ver 219.

Runs some more text and the Ubuntu logo with the dots comes up but will not go further than that... This was installed on a 5yr old Dell XPS7100.

Have you tried nomodeset? Or recovery mode, second line in grub menu. I think that just have nomodeset automatically.

I do not know AMD.
But like nVidia it has different versions of drivers for different older version cards. nVidia keeps it clear and supports the legacy version drivers, but when newer cards have newer features there is not need for a driver for an older card without newer capabilities to have newer driver.
