Rick James, who died at a young age (around 56 I believe),

Rick James, a black american singer and muscician, was the master of funk and jive!

Here is one song, Super freak:

or Rick James, Hard to Get:

I could go on and on with how he is one of the masters of Funky music.

But when he was alive he did this:

After he died, many in his family thought the book the Rick James Version of the Bible was blasphemy (https://www.google.com/search?espv=2&biw=1551&bih=728&q=blasphemy&spell=1&sa=X&ved=0CBoQvwUoAGoVChMIh9iGzM7rxwIVEk2SCh0VZQWk)
and thus, they would not allow the book to be continued to be publshed.

I can not find the book as a .pdf file,
I called Amazon and they can not deliver it to me on Kindle or print,
Barnes and Nobles doesn't have it on Nook or in print,
ebay doesn't have any old printed versions for sale.

It's like this book, that was once very very popular in the early 1980's, is now nearly impossible to get in print or digital format.

Anyone know where I can get a copy, any copy, any version - ?

Michael

I am not religious, thus see no reason why anyone would want any bible, much less one edited by an illiterate.

RJ's forte was R&B, not literature!

All I've been able to find on it are what can be found on the uncyclopedia link. I guess that's what occasionally happens to pre-Internet books when the family didn't want them published. But perhaps someone may find a copy in 100 years, think that it was a legitimate translation from 2000 years ago, and start a new religion based on it. After that, it will be easy to find. We just have to avoid catching a case of the dead until after that happens.

If you read some of the excerpts, you'd realize that it is not meant to be taken as serious religious literature. It's meant for humor, similar to the LOLCat Bible (http://www.lolcatbible.com/index.php?title=Main_Page). Basically, a "Bible translation" meant more for laughs than reading or studying, either from a literary or religious standpoint. Or, in other words, the stuff people read for laughs but never tell their pastor, if they have one, that they read.

Uncyclopedia is a joke site. A send-up site of Wikipedia. You can't find it because there is no Rick James bible. And talk of religion (or politics) is not permitted here. That is exactly where this thread will eventually wend, despite its innocent inception.

Thread closed.

The RJV has recently been in conflict with a newer translation by Bill Cosby known as the Bill Cosby Version of the Bible.

Really??? C'mon. You didn't read that? The Bill Cosby bible? Think I'll write one myself. And here is the entry for 'hat'.

And some more bibles to look out for:

:-k

One of the most hilarious sites around I reckon. :)
