Ubuntu 12.04 lts user.
I am *very* happy that one of the Ubuntu "Software up to date," I truly believe, has solved my head phone/ear bud problem.
For a long time, maybe a year or few, I was simply unable to use my ear-buds, that you use with a standard mp3 player you carry around.
Folks on the hardware forums tried and tried to help me, with no solution.
But somehow, now, I can use my headphones/ear buds on my HP desktop which is an Intel Core 2 Duo 64 bit system (cost me $90 but still runs 12.04 lts like a charm!)!
Whoever fixed this, I thank you so much.
I *know* an ubuntu software update delivered the fix to me, because no terminal commands that people tried to help me with in past would fix it at all!
I am *very* VERY pleased!
