I am running Ubuntu Mate and have enabled Compiz.
Everything is running fine.

The only problem I have is with theming.
Whenever I download a GTK2 or GTK3 theme and try to apply it via "Appearance", most of the time the Window borders are not changing.
They do appear in the "Window Border" list, but when I choose them, the border doesn't change. All pre installed borders are working.

I installed CCSM and the standard Window decorator is gtk-window-decorator. Do I need to install Emerald to get the Window borders of installed themes to work?
I found this tutorial (http://www.noobslab.com/2014/02/emerald-decorator-and-themes-available.html) on installing Emerald. Is this the correct way?

Gtk3 is still a work in progress. What themes are you downloading? I find the preinstalled themes work ok.

The preinstalled themes work. But I don't like them.
I tried
This theme (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/The+Days+of+Grays?content=122249) and window borders are working.
But with this theme (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Divinorum?content=65533) the borders are not working.

I have a couple more themes that don't work, but I have to check tonight when I get home.

I just installed and tried the Divinorum 0.4.0 theme, Seems to be working in my Ubuntu-MATE 15.04, but then I don't use Compiz. Don't know if that's the reason it works or not.

I disabled Compiz and enabled Marco. All themes are now working.
So I have to choose between themes and Compiz.

Well, now I know what the problem is...
