View Full Version : [ubuntu] Problem with encrypted drive after setup

September 2nd, 2015, 04:17 PM
I just got myself a new Thinkpad X1 Carbon with windows preinstalled. I disabled secure boot and installed 15.04 via a thumb drive. Stupidly, I decided to encrypt the harddrive. When booting for the first time, the password somehow didn't match. I don't know if I mistyped during setup or what happened. After three failed attempts, the system now prompts with initramfs.

Since then, I tried reinstalling Ubuntu from the thumb drive but just get a kernel panic from booting via usb instead of getting to the setup menu. What can I do?

Very angry with myself, would greatly appreciate help.

Any suggestions on how I could wipe the drive and reinstall?
