Hello,

I'm currently running Flasback-Compiz sessions in 14.04 and am happy with the DE. I recently noticed that Ubuntu Software Center recommended GNOME Shell extensions. It seems like this package will convert my DE into something like Unity, which is not what I want at all. What I don't know is whether it will pro-actively change my DE or simply give me the option of changing. Has anyone actually tried this? What does it really do?

Thanks, Hannibal

Extensions work only in the Gnome Shell and don't function in the Flashback sessions . They are means to add panel items and other functions.

Does that mean they add functionality in Unity?
