Live CD Problem

I downloaded and created the Ubuntu Live CD on Ubuntu. I am now trying to boot from that CD to reinstall Ubuntu, which has become slow. My computer,however, does not boot from the CD and I cannot set my BIOS to boot from CD, there seems be no option like that on my BIOS.

What version of Ubuntu ?

Current versions will only fit on a DVD, not a CD.

How did you install Ubuntu in the first place ?
