Updater says "Check internet connection"

Lately, every time "Software Updater" wants to run, it fails, telling me to check my internet connection. My internet connection is working just fine. Any suggestions?

Open a terminal and enter ..

sudo apt-get update
Get any errors?

Sorry for the delay, but I have been out of town (camping, so no computer).

No errors, ran "Updater" again and it worked.
Just bothers me that I would have to turn to a forum to make an operating system update or feature work properly! Its as bad as Microsoft!
Modern computers are supposed to be user friendly (any idiot can use them).
Okay done with rant.
