I am currently using Windows 7.

I downloaded the ubuntu's iso file from the official site.
I don't currently have a pendrive and my laptop doesn't have any CD/DVD drive either.

I found a tutorial to boot iso files from windows boot loader using "EasyBCD". I followed it and restarted and it showed me the option to run the ubuntu's image file.

But selecting it reaches to a command line format.

Grub >

The process is stuck here and I'm a complete newbie to Linux/ubuntu.
Please help me out. http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

You might post a link to the tutorial you used so we could take a look at it and perhaps see what the problem is.

you got stuck at boot loader. - yancek is right we would need to know more, to know how you got there.

I suggest you get a 4 EUR pendrive and do it properly.

if you are short on cash and if you have the RAM and CPU neded, you can do it in virtualbox: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/virtualbox
