Hello, So I just installed ubuntu on my laptop and after restarting and loading it up through grub it turns into a blank screen and never recovers, after watching it boot I noticd i heard the ubuntu boot up noise; the "drum". So it looks like its booting fine but I can not do anything after it boots and ctrl-alt-f1 does nothing so I am assuming I have no input either. Please help thank you.

leo41; Hello:

Might be a graphics driver issue .
Try booting with the 'nomodeset' boot parameter:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions

Once booted with this option, one can then install the proper graphics driver.
