Hey all --

Installing Ubuntu 15.10 i385 32bit it it acting as though I am using a phone. This is not a phone I am using, I am using an Intel chip based system (i386 32 bit). Why would this happen. Are all the new builds requiring a phonr? I write programs for the Terminal console environment. Please tell that my future possibilities of a publication is not gone.

Hi and welcome.

I'm sorry to report your post makes no sense at all to me... Would you be so kind as to actually explain what problem are you experiencing?!?...

Perhaps you downloaded and installed Ubuntu Desktop Next 15.10. And not Ubuntu 15.10. Compare these two locations.

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-desktop-next/daily-live/current/

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/daily-live/current/

You would not be the first to make this mistake with 15.10 under development.

The last ISO image for Ubuntu Desktop Next was built on 29th May. And it is indeed the phone OS. I think that Ubuntu Desktop Next has been replaced by Snappy Ubuntu Desktop Next which is built on Snappy Ubuntu core. It does not come as an ISO image but another kind of image that can be installed in KVM or image restored onto a USB memory stick. That is also the Ubuntu phone OS. But one day it might morph into a true Ubuntu desktop.

Perhaps it should be called Snappy Ubuntu Desktop NotYet.

Regards.

Thank you... will wait for October 2015 for an actual release of Ubuntu 15.10 for the i386 32-bit tower that I am typing on this very moment. :) Sorry for chomping on the bit too soon. (or, is that byte?)
