I have more Arch Linux screenshots since is my primary Linux. However, just yesterday, I switched desktop environments and moved to Cinnamon. With KDE Plasma 4 in maintenance mode only, a number of KDE apps have switched to Plasma 5 standards, thus Qt5. The newer apps still worked wonders, but most of my Plasma and window themes (namely Oxygen Transparent) were incompatible with said Qt5 apps, and looked like vanilla Plasma 5 oxygen. Plasma 5 is still a young DE with not a lot of add-ons available for it yet, so it was time for me to make the switch. I may go back to KDE Plasma once more add-ons and themes are made for it.

As for Cinnamon, I managed to do much of what I had done with KDE 4 and went with my usual blend of my usual Mac OS X style desktop, complete with dock and global app menu, with some sprinkling of Chrome OS transparency. In addition, I made some changes to my dock, with some of the dock items activating various GNOME Pie menus. All in all, it's new desktop environment and a number of new apps (traded KDE ones for GNOME/Cinnamon ones), but keeping a very similar look ;)

Computer: Desktop
Distro: Arch Linux
Desktop Environment: Cinnamon 2.6
Cinnamon Theme: Zukitwo Transparent Panel
GTK Theme: Radiance Teal
Left Wallpaper: custom-made Super Mario "Rosalina Spin Collage" (16:9 version)
Right Wallpaper: custom-made Super Mario "Rosalina Star Field Collage" (16:10 version)
Icons: Mint-X-Teal
Dock: Docky ... features include: Anchor logo removed using gconf, Launchers for various GNOME Pie menus (Main Menu, Internet, Multimedia, LibreOffice, and Session)
Docky Theme: Transparent
Special Features: Dual displays, Global Menu, GNOME Pie

I've been searching and messing around for a little over a month to get everything I wanted to set up an overall look that I was really trying to get. The only real problem was finding the perfect icon set, but thankfully, I found what I was looking for today and have absolutely fallen in love with it.

Some details and credits:
Icon Theme: Ravefinity Humanity Dark Pink (http://www.ravefinity.com/p/humanity-colors-icon-theme.html)
Window and Appearance Theme: Numix
Dock: Docky with classic theme and 3D background

And because I like knowing which workspace I'm on, I enjoy using separate wallpapers:

Workspace 2: http://images6.alphacoders.com/309/309983.jpg

It's been awhile since I've used Gnome Shell. I forgot how much I liked it. I think I'll stick here for awhile.

It is pretty much stock Ubuntu Gnome 14.04, with Conky and a couple quick mods to get rid of the round panel corners and make it semi-transparent.

I prefer Gnome style, using MATE desktop with composite enabled here, traditional and light enough for my system specs, save some RAM to play Supertuxkart.

Haven't been running linux for a while now, other than for some light system administration, so here is my current windows desktop. Also, currently i'm attending university studies, so we use quite a bit of windows software. It's rather minimalistic (well, it's all relative but you get the point) and has been tweaked quite a bit to hide all unnecessary UI elements and just flow. ATM it's rather perfect actually. There's an Autohotkey script doing all kinds of magic running, and i've got virtual desktops running with dexpot (you can see the workspace indicators running in the tray).
It's windows 7 as you can see, but with a patched UXtheme so i can theme it. ATM i'm using Soft 7 (http://www.deviantart.com/art/Soft7-2-0-161602097) and in the tradition of Windows XP i colored it blue. The Start menu icon is Win8 orb (small arrow) (http://ap-graphik.deviantart.com/art/Win8-orb-small-arrow-203304345).
I did try Windows 8 for a few days but it was horrible IMO. Same with 8.1. Windows 10 is actually kinda nice but still not as pleasant as Windows 7, so i'll guess 10.1 or perhaps 11 will hit the sweet spot. We'll see. Anyway, i digress:
