i have been using a gm-m6800 mouse for a 2.5 years now and the left click button has suffered a mechanical failure (only mouse i ever used to fail)
now i am using your old basic dell mouse as a backup
does anyone use a similar mouse
* i want a forward/back button on the side
* i don't want that sill high speed scroll wheel
* i don't want crazy bright ascetic leds (unless i can open the mouse and change the resistor, see next point)
* id like to have one that i can open to clean when it gets full of cat hair without removing glued on pads
* I like wired mouses cause i don't like batteries
* must have a 800dpi setting
i mainly use 800dpi, i actually altered my mouse settings to 1/2 my speed so i could use 1600dpi, but i rarely changed it
i don't want to spend over $10 USD on it, i have been waiting on my old mouse to go on sale, but maybe i can find one i like more

I doubt this will work for you but I've been using a Logitech M705 wireless mouse for a while now and it seems perfectly functional for me.

The mouse you mention looks to be a gaming mouse (http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3777#ov) and I saw it priced at around 95 dollars. The mouse I use retails at around 50 bucks.

I don't think you could get a wireless or wired mount with those specs for 10 bucks unless you get one used.

Ah ok. I'd get that one tbh, especially at that price.

I am using an HP 5 Button Optical Comfort Mouse which in this case is USB attached but also comes as wireless if you want, I believe.
The extra buttons are set one on each side of the mouse and they worked as back/forward in browser and file manager with no configuration on my part. It is very accurate and smooth and I think it is absolutely worth the price I paid, which I believe was about £10 (British pounds).

As far as mice go, Logitech is definitely the way to go. Their wireless mice have a battery life of around 1-2 years. Most of them also utilize the unifying receiver which enables you to use up to six Logitech wireless devices in one receiver.

I have the wireless M705, all buttons work out of the box and I haven't changed the batteries once, can't even remember when I got it.

Hi pqwoerituytrueiwoq.

My beloved, and not so cheap, Evoluent VerticalMouse (http://www.amazon.com/Evoluent-VerticalMouse-Regular-Right-VM4R/dp/B00427TAIK/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1436229791&sr=1-1&keywords=evoluent+vertical+mouse) was dying recently, and I went with a budget option: Anker Ergonomic mouse (http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Ergonomic-Optical-Vertical-Buttons/dp/B00FPAVUHC/ref=sr_1_22?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1436229717&sr=1-22&keywords=anker+mouse).
I'm very pleased with it. Excellent price/features ratio.

If you are wondering about an ergonomic, or vertical mouse, I would recommend it. It is about US$14.

Regards.

The "hyperscroll" thingie took some getting used to for me, but I love that mouse. :)

I use an M500, similar to the M705 but wired. I really like the hyperscroll myself, but if it's not to your liking it can be turned off easily with a button click. I think I paid $16 for a factory refurb, they're about $25 new. DPI isn't adjustable, but that's typical of mice at this price point.

Before I bought the M500 I picked up one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Optical-3200-DPI-7-Button-USB-Wired-Gaming-Mouse-Mice-For-Pro-Gamer-/221806696864?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33a4b599a0 . It does have adjustable DPI and the lighting is less distracting than I thought it would be. The quality is astonishingly good for the price. I gave it to a workmate because it was uncomfortably large for my hand, and she has been using it without incident for several months.
