Just as described in the Title. I have two desktop machines with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Both machines have this issue. Exactly every other boot time they go to a blank screen that the monitor shows up with 'display inactive' meaning the computer is no longer sending a signal to the monitor. I have tried the the 'nomodeset' idea but that doesn't solve the problem.
Both of my computers have ATI Radeon cards with current drivers.
I don't suspect this as my wife's computer has all this as well but does not have the problem.
I even compared etc/default/grub file between her machine and mine and there is no difference.
If this issue has been specifically addressed I was unable to find it. (may not have stated it the right way.)
