This is to inform the ubuntu community that operating system 14.04 has collapsed and had to be reinstalled with complete loss of stored data. The person was surfing in a public London Library in Westminster Charing Cross just an hour before. Since replacement of the operating system - still Ubuntu - the boot screen mentions a defective fan, although the fan works well. Eventually you can verify some similar complaints. Hopefully this is no wrong detection of still good technology, due to an interest of the trade to sell new goods. Ubuntu usually never collapses, this was remarkable. A similar problem has occurred in a USA New York Starbucks branch where the complete data on the harddisk was just erased from one minute to another. The current laptop is a HP Pavilion Touch Smart Notebook.
For your general information : the person is a human rights activist and currently considering a general complaint or investigation under the Rome Statute in the International Criminal Court against a general exclusion of races from fair chances to apply for political asylum abroad or also migrate permanently as some statistical irregularities have occurred and a fair access to foreign migration appears to be inofficlally limited. Certainly this is no particular Ubuntu problem, however a collapse of the operating system related to relevant progressive change of the asylum system can seemingly not be excluded, a careful treatment of this theory is of course recommended, just my personal view.
Any information how to secure or change the operating system against viruses would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Erik Kaiser
