Hi Ubuntu Gurus,

I have a Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Desktop workstation setup with the preinstalled version of Java and the IcedTea-plugin application. Everything is updated to the latest version, and is working successfully. However, the IcedTea Plugin keeps prompting us with "The application WBapplet from.....are you sure you want to run this application?"

I understand this is a security setting with Java to protect the end user, but it's extremely annoying and this workstation will not be used to access any outside websites after it's put into production. I was wondering if anyone has found a way to change the settings so that it remembers to always allow the applet to run. We are accessing an internal web page which is not accessible to the outside world.

Things I've tried:

Set the IcedTea plugin to "Always Run" within firefox
"open up" firefox and lowered security settings
Opened the IcedTea plugin console and reduced the security setting to "Low"
Purged and re-installed IcedTea and rebooted

Thanks in advance for any assistance
