Im still using Lubuntu, but i replaced OpenBox by Kwin to have best effects, but how the shortcuts are defined into lubuntu-rc.xml/lxde-rc.xml only it works for openbox. Im searching something how keyboard settings of Xubuntu to set shortcuts, but i can't find.
Otherwise, taking advantage of the post, i would like to install the monitor settings of Xubuntu, too.
Sorry for my bad english :?

kwin is kde the heaviest desktop. so i'm guessing you need to use kde shortcuts. should be installed as kde usually drags a lot of things with it.
xubuntu uses xfwm as the window manager. unless you run xfwm xubuntu shortcuts is not going to help you.
from what your doing, i would suggest you have a look at ubuntu-mate 15.04 you can do all those things your doing now with out having to mix & match screwing everything all up. just a thought.

Previously used Ubuntu Mate, a month ago, but my computer overheated exaggerated. I switched to Xubuntu + Kwin and i noticed an improvement in CPU usage. So I decided to do the same with Lubuntu, use kwin + tint2 and further improved performance, less use of CPU, 70 MB of RAM less.
Prefer kwin instead of compiz for some things, such as maximize, animated icons, effect in title bar text, and ease effect settings.
The only thing I like about compiz is the effect show desktop.
I think the most feasible will investigate what the applet manager keyboard shortcuts in KDE.
