widget layer on unity

Hi all

I would like to use something like the compiz widget layer on Ubuntu 15.04 for notes etc.. I can add the layer still by the compiz settings manager (after installing the plugin package), but I don't know how to add notes and other widgets to it. Is there a note application that works still with the compiz widget layer, or is there another similar feature available in the unity desktop?

Screenlets is still around and offers some sticky note applications and there is xpad as well which would be much more functional and in the repository.
