Hi. Been happily using Ubuntu since 2007. Just upgraded my desktop from Precise to Trusty, 14.04, and now have a problem with workspaces.

I use nine workspaces, which I configured using the Unity Tweak Tool. If I lock my screen (ctrl-alt-L) and then sign back in, all the windows I
had open are now scattered around on totally random workspaces, with no resemblance to the way I had them arranged before I locked the
screen.

Anyone else had this problem? Searching the forums didn't reveal anything. Googling didn't reveal anything. But I just installed 14.04 last week,
and have barely done anything with it yet, so this is a "right out of the box" problem. Very strange....

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi folks. Little update.

(a) It is a registered bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1295267

(b) I failed to mention I was using two monitors. I have now switched to a single one, and so far the problem has not come back...

When I lock screen and resume all my wondpws are gone and networking isn't workin any more and when I try restart it gets stuck on empty screen. Sounds a bit like your issue, but not really. Posted about it here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2281746
