I upgraded from 14.04 to 14.10 and now Xorg won't start.
When I ctrl-alt-f1, I see a few messages:
radeon: Invalid ROM Contents
drm:si_dpm_set_power_state *ERROR* si_restrict_performance_levels_before_switch failed.
I'm not even getting a bash login when I switch with ctrl-alt-f1. On tty 7, I got a black screen and it says "Ubuntu GNOME" with a progress bar (4 white dots turning blue).
I've tried starting with the other available kernels, to no use.
I think my best bet is to figure out how to get a shell, then update the Radeon driver or upgrade all the way to 15.04.
What you think?
