View Full Version : Ubuntu 14.04 Netinstall -- can't connect to the Internet

Im trying to get Ubuntut 14.04 NetInstall working on an Acer Aspire One netbook. It installs fine, but then fails to connect to the Internet even when an Ethernet cable is connected. Every time I try to fetch any updates or other packages from the servers, I get the error message, "Could not resolve 'us.archive.ubuntu.com'", and ping sees every url as an unknown host.

During installation, I selected 'Manual Package Selection', and aptitude said that the 'net' package collection was installed, including 27 files. The installer itself was able to connect to the Internet and download packages, like the kernel, so it isn't a problem with the network. It even connected wirelessly.

I couldn't find anything related to this in the forums or on the wiki, or even anywhere else on the web. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris Adams.
